Envisioned by Founding Father Alexander Hamilton in 1792, Paterson utilized a unique 18th-century “raceway” system of gatehouses and spillways to generate hydroelectric energy that powered early factories. For almost two centuries, workers produced silks, locomotives, textiles, paper, firearms, and aircraft engines. Paterson’s workforce was not idle. They worked hard, and they often went on strike to advocate for better working conditions for themselves and all American workers. A hand-rendered illustration styled after the vintage poster art of the 20th century, this design is available as a poster, framed print, metal sign, canvas, or as a set of notecards or postcards. This original national park art and travel art would look great on any wall in the home, or at the workplace.
